Paul Palmatier (W2POL) one of the founding members of EFMARC and past president, is still a staple in the club today. Paul holds an Amateur Extra license, and you can count on Paul to be at every single meeting and most events the club is part of. Paul 71 has been married for 47 years to his XYL Michelle. Paul is a US Army veteran and served from 1973 to 1976. We thank Paul for his service.
Radio is a big hobby of Paul’s. Primarily in the emergency communications area of the hobby. Paul is the ARES Emergency Coordinator for Montgomery County NY and is an Official Emergency Station. Paul also completed many EC courses including the 20-hour AuxCom class.
Outside of the radio hobby Paul is a self-proclaimed motorcycle nut and a published photographer. We need examples of his photography!!
A huge Kenwood Fan Paul uses a Kenwood 590SG for his HF needs, and a Kenwood TM-V71A for his mobile 2m and 70cm needs. SSB is mode of choice for Paul although I think he can be pushed towards the digital side as he is not afraid to try anything. Paul also assists with VE sessions to help new ham’s get their license. Paul is always willing to help anyone who needs it, he stays late after meetings to help plan future events and test sessions and is the primary liaison for our home at the firehouse.
