Welcome to the official Activate the Adirondacks web site.  Here you can find News, Results of previous events, registration, and an all new “Spotter” for finding activators in US-2001.

 

What is Activate the Adirondacks?  Well in a nutshell it is an event to get people out into the beautiful Adirondack Park in Northern NY and play radio.  We have designed it so “Activators” can challenge themselves to try to activate each of the 6 zones of the park.  Although it is a POTA like event, any operation counts as a contact and does NOT require POTA, SOTA, Fire towers or the like.  Making 10 contacts in a zone activates that zone.  This is a very relaxed event and not a contest, although we do award digital certificates for achieving various participation goals.

This year’s event is going to be held on Friday Sept. 18th at 12pm Eastern time through Sunday September 20th at 5pm Eastern time.  Registration is not required to participate but we encourage it so we can get an idea of how many people are interested and/or are participating in the event.  Registration can be found HERE!.
